Mental Health & Disability Services

• Since the implementation of community-based mental health services, dollars provided for these much-needed programs have been inadequate.  Rep. Bordsen signed on to several bills aimed at increasing funds for community mental health programs for both children and adults.

• Additionally, the state’s elementary, middle, and high schools received extra support for students with disabilities under a proposal sponsored by Rep. Bordsen last year.

• Rep. Bordsen continued her advocacy for strengthening the state’s mental health system in 2006.  In order to find and create places to house our mentally ill population, Rep. Bordsen supported a bill that would fund housing options for the mentally ill.
